The Roommate Agreement

Section 1
The Obvious

1. Ask before eating my expensive and gay healthy food, face/hair products, and vitamins. A “no” is expected as we will be broke-ass students, but remember…sharing is caring. <3
2. After taking a big shit, use whatever scented candle/bathroom spray that I will provide.
3. Do your fucking dishes before they become a mountain of bullshit.
4. Let’s not ruin each other’s shit. In all likelihood my expensive art books will be in our shared living space, and if drinks are spilled on them I will cry. If we ruin each other’s shit we will discuss the damage and agree on some form of payment. Whether it be a favour or cash money.
5. “If it’s too loud, you’re too old.” FALSE. We both love loud music, but sometimes we need to sleep/be Buddhist and shit, and I think we can both respect each other to not be obnoxious. Also, we are allowed to listen to whatever we want in our shared space, as long as we take equal turns. (this includes annoying bands like Toxik and excessive amounts of Ween and some of the hipster music that I like)
6. EXPIRED FOOD/SHIT NOBODY WILL EVER EAT. GET IT THE FUCK OUT OF THE FRIDGE.

Section 2
Fun People Doing Fun Things
(or not)

1. Smoking is fun. Not in the house. Especially not for feline friends. (meow)
We probably won’t be allowed to smoke inside, but in the event that we are… I’d prefer it if we limit ourselves to ~1 inside cigarette per month. In our rooms. With windows open. And with the other person’s knowledge that this fun privilege will be enjoyed. If we are NOT allowed to smoke inside, I guess we won’t. Unless the person is like “meh” and then the same “1 smoke” rule applies.
(NO WEED OR CRACK IN HOUSE PLS SRY)
2. Video games are definitely fun. I will probably be keeping my consoles in our shared living space (provided we have one). You are welcome to use them whenever you want, as long as games are put away (I’m allowed to leave my own games out because it’s hard to put things away ;__;) and we try our ABSOLUTE BEST not to save over each other’s files.
3. Video games are fun with guests! Unfortunately I don’t like people I don’t know putting their grubby little chip-grease hands on my controllers and games without my permission. We must agree to ask each other if non-roommates want to use our stuff.
4. Friends are pretty cool! Hopefully we will make some, but when we do, let’s try to give each other a heads up when they are coming over.

Section 3
Not so important but it’d be really nice

1. Fucking toilet paper goes like this. FLAP OVER. NOT UNDER.
2. Overflowing ashtrays are pretty gross so I guess let’s empty it fairly often.
3. RINSING OUT RECYCLING IS REALLY COOL AND WILL MAKE ME HAPPY. Stinky recycling bins are gay.
4. Anime should be watched with Japanese subtitles
5. K-pop is only fun when there is a video to watch. Just the music is homo.
6. Let’s not get butt hurt when we both want alone time.
7. If Pixel wants pets, we give him the pets.
8. Wednesday night is boardgame night
(jk but that’d be pretty cool)

This concludes my roommate agreement. These things apply to both you and I, and if any other rules should be added they can be discussed and we will agree to add them. Biggest rule is to communicate. If something is bothering you, tell me. I’m Irish so it won’t hurt my feelings. Obviously we can both be respectful people and hopefully live together in peace.
